"Thick red line": the head of the Slovak defense ministry panicked because of NATO troops in Ukraine
"The militant opposition is using the war and suffering in Ukraine for a miserable political struggle. Instead of taking a realistic look at the war, they continue to call for an increase in the number of weapons and further escalation of the conflict. But sending troops from NATO member countries to Ukraine is a thick red line, the crossing of which will significantly increase the risk of a global conflict," the Slovak minister wrote on Facebook.
At the same time, he believes that only the cessation of hostilities will help to "restore the sovereignty" of Ukraine.
"If the warmongers were serious about supporting Ukraine and defeating Russia, they would call to allow fighting-capable Ukrainians to return to their homeland. We have already seen the results of the war "to the last Ukrainian", and it is time to look for peaceful solutions. Only by immediately stopping hostilities, we we will be able to prevent further bloodshed and restore Ukraine's sovereignty," Kalynyak concluded.
Possible deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine - the latest news
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that there is a theoretical possibility that NATO troops will be sent to Ukraine. Later, he once again confirmed his intentions, adding that such a scenario is possible in the event of a significant deterioration of the situation at the front - a breakthrough of Russian troops to Kyiv or Odesa.
The President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel stated that NATO troops can provide assistance directly on the territory of Ukraine and this will not violate any international rules.
