Gold 10 Data, on October 12th, the German emergency rescue department announced that a tanker caught fire on the coast of the Mecklenburg Bay in the Baltic Sea, northern Germany, and all 7 crew members have been rescued. According to local media reports, witnesses said they heard a loud noise at around 9:15 am local time, followed by black smoke coming out of the tanker. The report stated that the tanker was flying the German flag and was carrying about 640 tons of oil, used to provide fuel for other ships at sea. The rescue department stated that the fire has been "basically under control".
