On September 10, Trump's nomination of Milan to serve on The Federal Reserve Board of Governors is expected to clear a key hurdle in the Senate on Wednesday; however, lawmakers indicated that it may still be too late for Milan to participate in the vote at next week’s Fed meeting. Discussing the logistics of whether Milan’s appointment could be confirmed before the September Fed meeting, Senate Banking Committee Republican Senator Lummis said, "I think this will be very challenging. Even rolling out new procedures will take a lot of time." She referred to the Republicans seeking possible changes to the nomination process. The Banking Committee is expected to vote on Wednesday to decide whether to advance Milan’s nomination to the full Senate, where Democrats are expected to unanimously oppose it, but Republicans should pass it with a majority vote of 13 to 11 in the committee. It is still unclear when the full Senate vote will be scheduled. A Senate Republican aide said that Milan's nomination could be confirmed as early as next Monday. (Jin10 )
