Tom Lee Speaks About ETH: Believes This Is an Opportunity to Surpass Bitcoin
In a broadcast featuring Tom Lee, the potential of Ethereum and its role in the crypto world was discussed. One of the highlights of the debate was the fact that the Bitcoin mining company Bitmine Immersion shifted to holding Ethereum as a treasury asset, a move that the company described as a "low-asset" model that does not require capital costs. Lee's Funstrat company is also said to be collaborating with the ETH Foundation to encourage Wall Street to adopt new technology. Lee emphasized the importance of using blockchain to help Wall Street operate faster and more efficiently, while noting that much of this is happening on ETH. He noted that companies like Robinhood are using ETH for tokenized products, particularly thanks to Ethereum's smart contract platform and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) for programs and smart contracts. He also reported that 60% of the stablecoin boom occurs in ETH and the network value could increase from 250 billion dollars to 4 trillion dollars. It is also claimed that ETH provides a local yield of 3% thanks to the Proof-of-Stake model and the 6.6 billion dollars worth of Ethereum that Bitmine holds has the potential to generate over 200 million dollars in net income. Tom Lee predicts a 50% chance that the value of the Ethereum network will surpass Bitcoin in the coming years. He believes that ETH is going through a phase similar to 1971, the year the US dollar left the gold standard.
