Former encryption trader kidnapped in Paris and extorted for a ransom of 10,000 euros.

Odaily News A 35-year-old cryptocurrency trader, Alexandre, was allegedly kidnapped between Paris and Saint-Germain-en-Laye and demanded a ransom of $11,600 (approximately €10,000). The criminals extorted €10,000 ransom from the victim's acquaintance in Algeria. The victim was eventually released at 4 a.m. on Wednesday with facial swelling. In 2025, France recorded 10 cryptocurrency-related physical attacks, accounting for one-third of the 29 cases in Europe. (Decrypt)
