Golden Finance reported that BlackRock recently set a new record for BTC acquisition, currently holding over 400,000 BTC, worth nearly $26.98 billion. In just the past two weeks, BlackRock has additionally purchased 34,085 BTC, valued at around $2.3 billion. The significant increase in BTC holdings is consistent with the rising trend of institutional investors investing in BTC through Bitcoin ETFs, which are gradually becoming the preferred way for TradFi companies to invest in BTC. However, the rapid increase in the amount of BTC held by BlackRock has raised some doubts about the potential impact of the company on the BTC ecosystem. Speculations abound that BlackRock may attempt to fork the BTC blockchain in the future to establish a version more aligned with its interests. While many believe this is unlikely, even a conspiracy theory, the massive scale of BlackRock's BTC holdings has indeed sparked debates on the influence of the BTC Decentralization spirit.
