ChainCatcher News, according to Protos, a kidnapped Cryptocurrency trader attempted to escape by jumping from a 30-foot (about 9 meters) high balcony during the process of being threatened by the kidnappers to pay a ransom of 30,000 euros (31,000 dollars), resulting in a fractured ankle. The 34-year-old trader met the kidnappers in Marbella, Spain, and they lured him to an apartment in Estepona to drink. Afterwards, the kidnappers abducted him and demanded ransom in Cryptocurrency from his client account, otherwise he would face torture. The victim pretended to agree and made a phone call. He claimed to be contacting a client to obtain the required cryptocurrency extraction code. In fact, he contacted a friend, who then guided the police to find his detained apartment. However, before the police arrived, the victim tried to escape from the balcony while the kidnapper was distracted. Unfortunately, he fell down and broke both of his legs.
