Credentials of 1.6 billion users from tech giants like Apple and Google have been leaked.
According to Deep Tide TechFlow news on June 20, Forbes reported that cybersecurity researchers confirmed the largest data breach in history, with approximately 16 billion log in credentials (including passwords) exposed. The Cybernews research team began investigating at the beginning of this year and discovered 30 exposed data sets, each containing from tens of millions to over 3.5 billion records.
The leaked data includes user account information from social media, VPNs, developer platforms, and all major tech vendors (including Apple, Facebook, and Google). Researchers warn that this is not just a leak, but a "blueprint for large-scale attacks" that lays the groundwork for phishing attacks and account takeovers.
Security experts advise users to take immediate action: change account passwords, use a password manager, enable multi-factor authentication whenever possible, and consider switching to a more secure passwordless login method. Keeper Security CEO Darren Guccione emphasized that this incident highlights the risks of sensitive data being inadvertently exposed online and the importance of strong password management.
