On June 26, 2025, at 2 PM, the TRON network officially executed Proposal No. 103 from the committee. It may seem like just a version upgrade number, but this time, TRON made a solemn statement on-chain:
We are fully compatible with Ethereum Cancun.
📜 Behind a technical proposal is Sun Ge's sense of rhythm.
Thus, a proposal that almost covers the underlying structure of the TRON virtual machine and consensus layer has been quietly promoted.
This proposal activates four key TIPs (TRON chain improvement suggestions), each of which is not a fix, but an "upgrade".
⚙️ TVM virtual machine officially aligned with Ethereum Cancun:
🔸 TIP-650 Enable Transient Storage opcode (TLOAD / TSTORE)
🔸 TIP-651 Enable Efficient Memory Copy Instruction (MCOPY)
🔸 TIP-745 Enable Ethereum BLOBHASH / BLOBBASEFEE placeholder compatibility instruction
These changes are not "EVM-like" but truly achieve bytecode-level compatibility. This allows all Ethereum developers to write contracts on TRON without changing code, without changing toolchains, and even with lower Gas costs and faster execution.
TRON has always emphasized "doing it fast and running it steady," and this time they directly connected themselves to the nerve center of Ethereum.
🔒 Major Upgrade of Consensus Layer Verification Mechanism
🔸 TIP-694 targets the gray area of cybersecurity:
•Limit account creation transaction size
•Strictly check transaction volume and block capacity
•Strictly filter near-expiry transactions
•Fix abnormal sorting of SR ranking in extreme cases.
•Drafting the transition from java.lang.Math to strictMath to enhance cross-platform consistency
If TVM represents "compatibility", then the consensus layer represents "stability".
TRON does not want to merely be compatible with the mainstream; it aims to avoid being overwhelmed by technical debt during large-scale growth. This is its core strategy: to lay a solid foundation before the narrative takes off.
Many people will ask, why are these technical actions concentrated at this point in time?
Because now is the key window for TRON to break out of the on-chain.
•✅ TRX shelling US stock SRM is about to become a model of "on-chain assets + traditional capital" integration.
•✅ TRON USDT issuance has exceeded 80.7 billion, with on-chain usage leading globally.
•✅ The TRON mainnet enters its seventh year, requiring a "dual iteration" of technology and systems.
The proposal №103 at this point in time is not just a version update, but more like a coordinate point of "compliance + globalization" nailed down by Sun Ge on the technical map.
Beyond technology, every line of code actually carries the will of a person.
You can say that Sun Yuchen "has a strong narrative ability," but you also have to admit: his story doesn't just stop at words. He uses practical proposals, upgrades, and compatibility to show you what it means —
"It's not about walking on the road, but about paving it."
TRON is not the fastest on-chain compatible chain to launch Cancun, but it is one of the first projects to systematically propose and implement developer-friendly, secure verification, and consensus logic.
Continuously optimistic about the Tron ecosystem
