Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm may apply for a trial delay due to witness disputes.
PANews July 11 news, according to CryptoSlate reports, court documents on July 10 showed that Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm's lawyer stated that if the judge allows a hacker who allegedly used the platform to testify, they might request a brief postponement of his upcoming criminal trial. Storm's defense team applied to the U.S. Southern District Court of New York to exclude this unnamed witness, as the prosecution disclosed their identity only after the agreed deadline. The witness is alleged to be an executor of a hacking incident, using Ethereum mixers to wash funds and conceal their whereabouts. Storm's lawyers believe that this testimony could provoke the anger of the jurors, unfairly influencing their view of the defendant. If the court denies the motion to exclude, they reserve the right to request a delay. The Storm trial is scheduled to begin on July 14, and the judge is expected to rule on the witness motion before the weekend, with jury selection to be conducted next Monday under Judge Katherine Failla.
