Scientist's Perspective: Conflux Founder Long Fan Talks About Technical Adherence and Industry Trends

Professor Long Fan, the founder of Conflux Network, recently attended a digital finance and ecological development conference in Hong Kong. This Tsinghua alumnus and University of Toronto professor shared his independent judgment on industry trends for the first time in years.

Long Fan stated that he is primarily a computer science researcher. Conflux is positioned as a high-performance public chain based in China or Asia, dedicated to becoming an important infrastructure in the era of Web 3.0. This positioning has been established since the project's inception in 2018 and has been adhered to ever since.

In terms of technology, Conflux's greatest advantage lies in its overall architecture, which achieves high performance of 3000-6000 TPS without sacrificing decentralization and security. Since the mainnet launch, there have been zero security incidents, demonstrating the stability and reliability of the architecture.

When it comes to compliance issues, Long Fan pointed out that Conflux becoming the only compliant public chain in China has its historical reasons and is not something that was fought for, but rather the result of long-term persistence. The team has always believed that compliant development is possible and valuable, and is willing to make efforts and short-term sacrifices for it. Hong Kong is currently seen as a "special zone" for blockchain, providing important opportunities for industry development.

Regarding the recently popular RWA and Memecoin, Long Fan believes that RWA represents the continuously optimized development path of the industry in breaking through limitations, while Memecoin reflects humanity's primal need for risk and stimulation.

Looking to the future, Long Fan stated that Conflux will continue to adhere to its established technical route and strategic direction. He suggested that developers choose between a rapidly iterating application layer direction or an infrastructure direction that requires long-term investment, depending on their own situation. Conflux is more inclined to support teams with clear long-term plans to jointly promote the sustainable development of the ecosystem.
