Bo Hines: The amount of Bitcoin held by the U.S. government is currently "not discussable".
On July 31, Bo Hines, the executive director of the White House Crypto Assets Council, refused to disclose the amount of Bitcoin held by the U.S. government in the latest episode of the podcast. Earlier reports suggested that the actual amount of Bitcoin held by the U.S. government may be far lower than the 200,000 coins estimated by Trump's crypto advisor David Sacks, with only 29,000 coins. Regarding the specific number, Hines stated that "it cannot be discussed at this time," but confirmed that the government plans to increase its holdings of Bitcoin through a "budget-neutral" approach. Due to differences in asset classification, only Bitcoin that has completed the judicial process of forfeiture can be counted as government assets, while Bitcoin that is under seizure still carries legal uncertainty.
