Base upgraded to a comprehensive Web3 super application, creating a new ecosystem for the on-chain economy

Recently, Base held an important press conference to announce significant upgrades to its ecosystem. The core of this upgrade is the official renaming of Coinbase Wallet to Base App, marking a shift in Base's strategic focus from purely foundational infrastructure to a "super app" that integrates users, applications, and social features.

The Base App is positioned as a "universal application" aimed at breaking the current fragmented functionality of Web3 applications, seamlessly integrating core features such as social interaction, content creation, asset trading, instant messaging, and daily payments into a unified platform.

The core of the application is an open social network built on the decentralized social protocol Farcaster. Users can truly own their content and social graphs, and freely take them to any compatible applications. In this social network, each post by the user can be minted as an on-chain asset, allowing creators to earn directly from their creations.

The Base App also integrates hundreds of mini-applications, covering various categories such as games, yield mining, and prediction markets. Users can conduct asset trading within the app, supporting the buying, selling, and exchanging of millions of on-chain tokens. In addition, Base now supports quick transfers of USDC through NFC technology.

Technically, Base has officially launched the Flashblocks module on the mainnet, reducing effective block time from 2 seconds to 200 milliseconds, a tenfold speed increase. This innovation lays the foundation for complex interactions and instant feedback in on-chain applications.

In order to empower developers, the original Coinbase Wallet SDK has been upgraded to Base Account SDK, providing powerful tools necessary for building exceptional applications, including Base Account, Sign in with Base, Base Pay, and other features.

In terms of ecological cooperation, Base has collaborated with several well-known institutions. A major bank announced that it will conduct a proof of concept for US dollar deposit tokens on Base. Millions of merchants on a certain e-commerce platform can choose Base Pay as one of the payment methods for their stores, accepting USDC payments from global users.

The goal of Base is to build an open, efficient, borderless global on-chain economy. By integrating functions such as social, identity, applications, and payments, and supported by Base Chain, Base is creating a more open, free, and creative global economic ecosystem.
