India announces the launch of commercial semiconductor production by the end of 2025.

Jin10 Data September 2nd, Indian Prime Minister Modi stated that India will begin commercial semiconductor production by the end of 2025 and claimed that India is moving towards its goal of becoming a global chip innovation center. Modi made this statement during the opening ceremony of the annual India Semiconductor Conference held in New Delhi, mentioning that Micron and Tata Group's test chips have already been put into production. He said, "Commercial chip production will start this year. This fully reflects the rapid pace of India's development in the semiconductor field." Data shows that the size of India's semiconductor market has jumped from $38 billion in 2023 to $45-$50 billion in 2024 and 2025, with government targets set to reach $100-$110 billion by 2030. Currently, India is advancing 10 semiconductor projects with a total investment of $18 billion, including the establishment of two design centers with a 3-nanometer process in Noida and Bangalore. Modi stated, "Although our journey started late, no one can stop us now."
