Lebanon's Prime Minister: Ready to deploy troops in the south of Lebanon and implement the UN resolution of 2006

On September 30th, according to Al Jazeera, Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Mikati is preparing to deploy the army in the southern part of Lebanon. Mikati said that the Lebanese government is also ready to fully implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which aims to end the armed presence of Hezbollah south of the Litani River as part of a ceasefire protocol with Israel. Mikati told reporters, 'Lebanon is ready to implement Protocol 1701, and once the ceasefire protocol takes effect, Lebanon will immediately send its army to the southern region of the Litani River to fulfill its responsibilities.'
