Germany set a record high trade surplus with the United States last year
On February 12, Jinshi Data reported that according to data from the German Statistical Office, Germany's trade surplus with the United States reached a record level last year. Countries around the world are watching to see how US President Trump will impose tariffs on imported goods. In 2024, Germany's trade surplus with the United States expanded to 70 billion euros (approximately 72 billion US dollars), far exceeding the record of 63.3 billion euros set for the whole year of 2023. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that the EU is still waiting for formal notification of any new tariffs, but any such action will result in retaliatory measures.
