Leaders of the United States, Egypt, and Qatar are trying to eliminate the barriers to the hostage protocol before the Cairo summit.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the White House stated that earlier today, US President Biden "discussed the upcoming talks in Cairo and the efforts to eliminate the obstacles to the hostage protocol" in a phone call with leaders from Egypt and Qatar. The hostage negotiations are scheduled to take place later this weekend, but Hamas has not accepted the transitional proposal submitted by the US last week, and the chances of a breakthrough seem low.
