The European Union is preparing to resume the establishment of a civil special envoy at the border crossing of Rafah.

On January 17, Jinshi Data learned that the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Cathy Caras, stated that after Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) reached a protocol on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the European Union is prepared to resume the establishment of a civilian special envoy at the Rafah border crossing. Caras said after meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa in Brussels that the European Union is negotiating the resumption of the establishment of a civilian special envoy. She stated that the European Union is ready, but needs invitations from both parties and cooperation protocols with Egypt.
